Default nice catch Friday March 25th, but.?..

I caught these 5 Fish in 1 1/2 hrs fishing in a central illinois Lake, last Friday 03-25-2017. When I fillet them I found these wormy looking things, in the meaty flesh of 2 of the fish. anyone ever seen anything like this, what are they? are the fish safe to eat? It's a Nematode (roundworm/red worm) ... a parasite to fish.

(here's an article concerning this parasite, with further info)

Just cut the area around the parasite out when dressing them and they will be fine to eat when fully cooked. I'll guarantee you most all of us here who have eaten crappie have swallowed one or more of those with no idea they were there.
