anyone have tips or advice for herington?

I've grown up about 20 miles from Herington and have heard my whole life how good it is for crappie fishing, I have yet to catch more then 1 or 2 decent crappie out if it in a year.

Timber around the south end of the new lake can produce. The rock pier that sticks out near the bridge on south end during spawn. I would use live bait until you get on them then switch to artificials.
