Spawn size ?

how small of a spawning female white crappie have you ever seen ? I saw tons of tiny males beat down and shredded today up on the bank shallow ....most was 4 to 6 inchers .....but when this here girl fish came out of 12 foot of water and she was plump and dripping eggs .....about 5 inches long she was
they guy on the dock with me ...said WOW ....I never seen one that small spawning ,
I said trust me brother , that's why the great state of Texas says no worries on crappie ....
they take care of them selves

I don't think "size" plays as much of a role in this ... it's "age" that determines the maturity factor.

According the Texas state fisheries dept. , white crappie here in Texas are sexually mature at one year old and can and will most probably spawn ,to add a little more food for your thoughts , they also told me they grow from hatch to 2.5 inches here in 45 to 60 days ....
