Default Tight Line and Dropper Rig Drawing by shipahoy 41

This is another way I like to fish deeper water. I will use a tight line with a dropper rig dangling from a hook snap. Set the hook snap so that with a five inch dropper line the lure is about three feet from the lake floor. The tight line is at an angle to the rod.

I fish this style of dropper rig frequently.I have several pre made, some I add two droppers. On the double dropper,I try to put the lower just above the bottom or vegetation, and the top one about where you say in your drawing,I do this to pick off any low hanging fruit that may be passing by.

Many times I also will fish a tight line for Crappies on a deep water double dropper loop setup. On one dropper line I will have the 1/16th ounce jig head and soft plastic lure. On the other dropper line I will have a 1/64th teardrop lure. Tip it with a wax worm and you will catch a ton of Bluegill and Perch. This is what this double dropper rig looks like my friend.

Yep,that's exactly how I set mine up.My first experience was using a Sabikl set up for trout in deep water.I baited each hook with a meal worm or crappie bite, when I started catching more trout than before,I did some research and found how to rig a drop,I use it very often.

If you look at his drawings, you will notice the jig hanging horizontally has the hook riding up instead of down, that's the proper set up to insure a better hook set.

Most underwater floats used with a Carolina rig for example the hook will be in the bottom thus hooking crappie in the bottom lip. In this deep water rig the hook will always be in the up position thus hooking Crappie in the top of their mouth which is a more solid place to set a hook.
