Fished the marina from 12:30 to 4:00 this afternoon. Caught lots of 7 to 8 inch crappie. Water temperature was 43 degrees. The fish were very active swimming at 6 to 8 feet regardless of water depth. Could not get them to hit a suspended jig. They readily hit a sinking retrieve at 2 mph.

I had heard that tubes work best with red hooks and it seemed to be true today. It will require more testing.

Fished the Rocky mud flats North of the dam with waders after leaving the marina until just before sunset. Was hoping to pick up an early walleye. Didn't get any bites or see any signs of fish feeding on shad. Should have stayed until after dark but was getting tired and hungry.
