    Default Powder Painting Questions

Do any of you actually bake your jigs after dipping? If You do , how do you hang 'em in the oven any input would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks , Pete

    Default Jig rack

Bought a metal electrical box & screwed a metal pizza pan on it and drilled holes around the lip of the pan. After you dip a jig just hang it on the pan. When they are all painted put it in the oven.

Buy some bread pans about 3 inches deep then go to hardware store and buy a roll of hardware cloth with 1/2 by 1/2 inch squares. Then cut the cloth a little bigger than your pans so you can bend the edges over lips of pans helps from getting poked and stays put. P.S. hang jigs on X of wire then cure. Yes I cure all of mine.

After I pour up a bunch of jigheads, I take a butane lighter and heat my jigheads one at a time holding them by the hook with needlenose pliers, then dipping them into the powder paint. I have a rack that I made out of that closet maid shelving that I hang them on to let them dry. It works really well for me.

OK people , here's the scoop. This grate came with the "Turbo Cooker" my ol' lady bought off the T.V. Since she doesn't cook much and has never used it , it is now my jig curing grate - it holds about 130 jigs for those of you wondering. Thanx to all the ideas and info y'all gave too , some pretty slick tricks IMO.

I use a small bread pan about 3 inches deep. I cut three small slits on each side and I use a piece of all thread just long enough to reach from one side to the other side. I hang the jigs on the all thread and put the pans in a toaster oven. If you need baking times and temperatures, let me know and I will email them to you. Times and temps are different for different size jig heads.
    Hope this helps.
