I've never found anything that works.
What type of spool holder and technic do you guys use to spool your spinning reels with line?
I've never found anything that works.
None ... I put the line spool on the floor and wind it onto the reel while watching the line curls between the spool & reel. If the curls start getting smaller (more numerous), then I flip the line spool over and continue filling the reel. And of course I'm putting tension on the line, just before it goes onto the reel, with my finger & thumb.
I have heard of people using drills @ low speed, and running the line onto the reel spool ... similar to what bait stores do with their "line filler machines".

what CP says then I take them outside and drag the line from the reel to about 100' and crank it back in with NOTHING on the end of the line so it can roll freely on the ground, this removes a lot of the line twist
Same as you would with a baitcaster. I've been doing it for years.
This video is gospel truth.

#1 run the line through the guides starting at the tip of the rod run line all the way to the spool."open the bail of reel"tie to spool of the reel.# 2 wrap a few turns of line on to spool.Put spool back on reel.#3 close bail on reel.#4 lay spool of line on the floor.#5 put rod tip on the spool of line the direction the line is winding on reel.Keep the line tight as you reel line on the spinning reel.Leave about a finger nail space on the top of the spool with line.Keep line tight.#6 tie line just above the last line guide on rod reel up real tight lock spool.stand the rod in a corner of the room over night.will be ready to go fishing.Hope this helps.

Blessed to have as many friends as fingers on your hand is a blessing!!!

Can God trust us.
I go outside then tie one end to the reel. I use a pencil and pull as much line as I want on the reel ,100yds.
Lastly I cut the line and wind it up. There is no line twist that way.

This is the way to do it. I don't understand why so many folks seem to have trouble with line on a spinning reel. I have zero issues with line. All I do is cast and twitch.....using 2# test line I get a lot of fish that pull a lot of drag.....but I just don't have the issues with line.

The simplest and best one I ever used was the old fashion dog bone style line holder. Wore it out, couldn't keep tension on the line anymore. Until mine was done I could never find another one.So easy to carry and use anywhere by yourself. I now have good luck using the Ultimate Line Winding System. I usually only change 100 to 125 yards of line at a time. leave the rest of the line on the spool for backing. Change it all every couple of years. No matter what you use the most important things are to keep good tension on the line and don't overfill the spool. I keep the line down 1/16" from the lip of the spool. Keep your reels out of the sunlight as much as possible and the line will last a lot longer!!
