Sorry, poor title to my question, should be , New Axle greasing efficiency
Hi,I'm replacing axle and hubs, just noticed that they come with grease fittings. This pushs out the old greas. So does this mean less repacking the bearings? This keeps them in good shape? I'll not have to repack them as often? or almost never?
thanks

It depends on what exact kind of axles you have. Some do push out the old grease and they work well. EZ Lube is the most common hub of this type. You normally jack the trailer up and spin the tire while adding grease.
Others retain the grease under a slight pressure to prevent water intrusion. This type doesn't push the old grease out and over-greasing can damage the seals.
It should have a weep hole on the side and a dust cover. Grease through the valve until it starts coming out the hole, wipe off and replace the cover. To much or to often will blow out the rear seal.
Although some of them are supposed to be water proof (seals) I still recommend a good quality grease to go in. Mystic makes one that can be subject to water and is my go to grease of choice.
