Default A lesson learned on chasing shad school

On Stockton, I was doing pretty good in a 15 mph wind, out of the north east, on the little sac river arm , but when I had to get up and stand to get the circulation going in my legs I said Rick will you run the trolling motor for a minute,,, He did and I watched, pff I thought I knew how to run a trolling motor, how he held the tin boat that close to the brush I don't know But I learned and next time I'll be better, practice makes perfect.

purple/char jig, maybe mike's custom jig, not sure rick said here try this one, we caught probably 40 small fish and 9 keepers, wind just to rough, and Stockton is no place for rookies, and us old timers know our limitations. This was Tuesday the first

    Stockton and wind = bad
    You got some though.
I'll smoke just about anything (in my smoker)
The fishing is always great. The catching varies.
