I always do best below Truman but I think Stockton has a better reputation.

Ok, I am determined to try walleye's this year. Without starting a whizzing contest, what is the best place/method in Missouri for a novice?
Thanks.

I can tell you we swim 3" white twister tail jigs close to the bottom and catch quite a few but I can't tell you our best way or mine son would kill me. he discovered it and don't want me to tell.

I don't know a thing about Walleye fishing except for what I've read, heard or seen. So this is my 2 cents worth
Stockton is probably the one Lake in Mo. that has a good concentration of Walleye ( Graphed some large Walleye back in the 80's ) so I was told
Mark Twain has had a fish kill back in the Late 80's or early 90's and was stocked with 345,000 fingerlings of each species except Walleye and they stocked 12,000,000 of them ( I think some politician wanted a walleye lake ) Use to fish Mark Twain in UAW Bass Tournaments, had about 20 Boats per tournament and someone always came in with a 4-6 lb Walleye.
Truman Lake, I've seen Richard Bowling come in with a nice Walleye so many times while crappie fishing.
Just thought I would put this out, I would love to catch them myself but just never have, sticking with crappie, hoping one of these days I catch one while crappie fishing
I've had decent luck on Stockton in may around the cedar ridge area trolling cranks in 20' of water purple has always been my go to and chartreuse with pearl flicker shad
