I'm thinking about trying some of the bass pro baby shad. I usually use bobby garland baits but these pretty much look identical. Great price right now.

I never had a problem with them. They work just as good as most plastics.

I buy the Southern Pro version in 50 packs from Monk. I think they're less than a dime each. He used to sell the Bobby Garlands in 50 packs but I don't know that he still has them.

I've used 3 or 4 brands of straight tails. They all seem to work as well as any other. My preference is still for BGBS, but when I can't get them, or run out of the color that's working on a given day, the off-brands have never had a negative effect on my catch.

I don't use the BPS version, but do use some Bobby Garland, Panfish Assassins, and Slab-a-nator Shad bodies. My preference is the Slabanator Shad body (2"), with the Panfish Assassin Tiny Shad (1.5") a close second.

Can't hurt to give them a try. I have not specifically tried BPS pro baby shad but have used other BPS lures and have been happy with them. I must say I am a big fan of the Bobby Garland baby shad. Good luck.
