Default What is your ratio of success?

If you go out on the water 10 times, how many of those times will you catch a fish? Also, what is the average amount of time you are on the water when you go out?

During the open water season, Walt & I try to get out there 2 - 3 times a week. A lot depends on doctor's appointments and the weather, but that's always our goal. Success rate? Hmmmm.....not sure I recall a time when didn't catch fish when we go out. Some days are better than others, but in general, we're pretty successful. Check our posts in the New England Forum below.

Pretty much always catch something. Might not be what I was looking for or worth keeping. But always have a large time on the water.

Limit out 90 percent of the time. I fish year round as long as there's no hard water, or 100 deg heat. Most of the time 8-10 hrs on the water, unless it's a quick trip after work or to wade a creek.

For the last year my ratio has been pretty good. I have caught fish on every trip but one. There was two that didn't yield crappie in addition to the one fish less day. I can say that multiple trip there were well over 100 crappie that were boated and one day that resulted in culling 11 1/2- 12 " fish. I will say that my success over the last year was due to the influence of a member here that has taught me much and could probably catch a limit in the nearest public swimming pool

Success has to be defined. With my work schedule, a day on the water stands on its own. Fish are a bonus.

It is good to see that you guys are so successful. Although I am never out for very long, I seem to only catch a couple fish over multiple trips and sometimes I dont even get a bite. It may be because I fish shoreline, but I also must have a lot to learn.
