Default My trick for someone fishing my "honey hole"

This is about when I was a Commercial Fisherman on the Mississippi River. At one time there was a slaughter/processing plant close to the bank of the river. There was a huge underwater concrete culvert that carried blood and bits of meat to the river from the plant and couldn't be seen from the river. I could sit at the end of the culvert and catch all the big catfish I wanted with a rod and reel. There were old barges tied up to the pilings. One day I headed to my spot and when I got there a boat with three young guys was sitting in my spot tied to the barge I always tied to. They were catching fish, but not like I usually did. I went down to another barge that was about fifty yards down river from them. I caught a couple of cats that weighted around ten lbs. I made a big commotion when I caught the fish to draw their attention. I would rehook the fish when they weren't looking and slide it back into the water and catch it several more time. After a short while I rolled up my lines and headed back up river like I was heading in. As soon as they saw me leave they untied and went to where I had been. I made a u-turn and went to my honey hole and tied up. I started catching 10 to 35 lb cats. If you ever find someone fishing your honey hole you might want trying what I did.
I may be getting older but I refuse to grow up.

And that's the reason is best not to mess with old folks. Especially their favorite fishing holes.

its the same with bank fishing, some people follow people that catch fish and know where to find them and always watch others who they are sure know something they dont. Real fisherman go by their own knowledge and experience and might ignore others luck.
