    Default Bread on Marabou Jig?

Has anyone used bread on a marabou jig? I read that you can roll dough balls with cat/dog food and garlic. How much more effective are crappie nibbles and other artificial bait?

Not sure about bread but we often catch crappie that are not hitting jigs/minnows when we go jig/nibble. We use both when first setting up over a brushpile to see what they want. Nibbles seem to work for us best right after minnows. Be glad to see other's thoughts. We are willing to try most anything to catch those beauties.

Bread is a great bait, but I just use it plain on a bare hook.

If I were going to add "something like a crappie nibble" to a jig, I would just use a crappie nibble. I wouldn't go to the trouble of mixing scent into bread. (But I'm lazy.)
