pflueger president

I am going to put a pflueger president on one of my dock shooting rods. pflueger president has more positive feedback then most other reels. If i like it i will put it on my other rods. My question which model, 6925 looks about right but would listen to someone experience.

I use the president 6925 paired with a BNM duck commander 6' ultra light.

I use a 6925 spooled up with 4# Mr Crappie Hi-Viz line and mounted on a 6' medium light BPS Microlite graphite rod.

I have several, had a 6925 like new and one in the Supreme, same size also for sale in classifieds. Just landed a 5 1/2 # bass on one Sunday.

Its a great size, and a fave or mine.

for the money u cant beat em i have 1 on 3 different rods. parts hold up and rain doesnt bother them..bail spring is great i have worn out many daiwas and shimanos

While I cannot attest to the quality of this reel, never having owned or used one, I can attest to the fact that : if the reel does not balance with the chosen rod on which it will reside, the outfit will be less effective & more cumbersome than it need be.

If you put the reel on a rod, then place the outfit on your outstretched finger at the front edge of the handle, and the rod quickly dips towards the rod tip ... that outfit is "tip heavy" and will wear on your wrist & forearm with any extended use. If it dips towards the handle end, it's "butt end heavy", and while it will feel heavy in hand, it won't strain your wrist as bad as a tip heavy outfit ... it will just feel heavier than it should.
If the rod/reel balances on your finger, it will feel more like an extension of your arm ... and be more comfortable to hold/use for extended periods.

You are the right track with Pflueger, they are fine, I use the 6920 and 25 model. I own 10 and have never had a problem with either. Pay a little more, but worth it.

Anything over the tiny ultralight size does well. The small ones have a real tight line memory, no matter who makes em. I have 2 presidents and feel that they are the best for the money in their class.
