    Default Electronic help

I have a new rig but need some help. I have a terrova motor. Looking for the best fish finder to match with it.
I fish Louisiana, a lot of the lakes aren't depth mapped. I like the idea of how the contour idea works, but don't think it is available here much.
Spider rig mainly in less than 20'
The boat came with a helix 5 mounted in the center console, mainly just use the one on the console for gps, they didn't put a transducer that will side image on the back, and I'm using an old lowrance elite 4 off the trolling motor.
Should I just switch them out?
Do I need any other transducer other than what is on the motor for side imaging?
Is the Helix 5 map smart with the trolling motor? Thought I heard it isn't.

    Which HELIX 5 ...??

    *HELIX 5 Sonar GPS
    *HELIX 5 DI GPS
    *HELIX 5 SI GPS
    -----

Your HELIX can use LakeMaster or Navionics map cards ...

You can check the Navionics coverage for your lakes in their web app ...

    ----

You can check the LakeMaster coverage in their region cards ...

You can also check into LakeMaster ChartSelect which allows you to purchase just one lake ...

The HELIX 5 is not Ethernet capable to link to the trolling motor ...

I surmise that since no lakes in La are on there, I wouldn't need it anyway?

There is also the option of building your own Lake maps with the Autochart or AutoChart Pro software packages ...

You would use your HELIX 5 to create Sonar recordings ... which would then be imported into the software program to be rendered into your own custom maps for your lakes ...
