SMITHVILLE / NO ICE/ NO YEARLY PERMITS AVAILABLE YET

Took the drive up to Smithville to get my yearly permit and the woman said they were NOT in yet / had NOT arrived yet. Drove around little there, NO ICE nowhere, plenty of boats every where, and plenty of 10 _ 12 inch Shad all along the banks / shallow water areas.

Are you finding the shad around CB or the main lake cuts?

Did NOT take the boat, did not go out on the water, just wanted to get yearly permit. Seen boats under CB Bridge, and one boat parallel to the highway between the marina and the highway. The rest were zooming down the lake. Hopefully, going SAT. weatherman talking about VERY windy conditions Thursday and Friday 20 - 40 MPH !!!!!!!! The dead shad was on the North side of W bridge highway opposite side if the marina, in very shallow water, some were ON the bank and some were floating close to the shore, still in the water, ALL were dead, I am ASSUMING, they froze last week from the ice and snow in the shallow area there, I did see a few UP on the banks, three feet away from the water's edge.
