Default Anybody use Artic Armor gear?

When I quit snow goose guiding, I realized most of my all-weather gear was in terrible shape. There have been some replies on a thread on the KY Forum about how much they like the Artic Armor gear. Anybody use it? How do you like it? How do the sizes run?

I've seen a couple of posts on other forums that the sizing actually runs large. In my experience not many outdoor gear items run larger than advertised.

Hopefully Santa leaves some $$ so I can buy some insulated gear that isn't snow camo and worn out.

Yea baby. Three years now. Fits much better than my bps 100 suit. The layout is un real for as pockets and storage. If you don't have it yet you are behind the game.

I bought a set five years ago and I was quite disappointed in the cold weather performance. If you look at the chart above it looks like a miracle product.
I found out the hard way: If it is to good to be true it is too good to be true!!
Twice while sitting on a deer stand with temps in the teens I felt cold around my shoulders and had to change to my thinsulate coat. When blowing snow the inside of the coat was wet and not passing moisture. The material is supposed to float you but is not considered a PFD by the coast guard.
The suit does a good job as rain gear and sheds water well.
If you need gear to handle temps above the teens the suit may work well for you. If you are looking for cold weather gear I suggest some other choices.

I got a set of the Ice Armour before the Artic Armour was availabe and have liked them. Some of my friends later purchased some Artic Armour and are satisfied with them. The material on the Ice Armour is much more durable than the Artic Armour. The Ice Armour is very heavy and I would sink like a rock if I fell in. My thoughts on falling into 35 deg water is that my heart would stop beating whether I'm floating or sinking.

Now if I had to get another set I'm not sure which one I would get.

They have sizes up to 5 x I was looking at them online at dicks sporting. I ended up with cabelas guidewear and love it. It's very warm but a little heavy. And you will sink like a rock if you fall in trust me I know my son was trying it out and fell in. If it wasn't for his friend it would have been a lot worse but god was watching over him. It's a great suit but very expensive. On sale they run around $550.00

I do Doug 3x bibs and jacket with free gloves. I haven't been cold yet. Was out last Saturday at 19 degrees going down the lake at 35 mph with a save face mask and my Arctic armor.
When I bought mine I called them to get the right size. No complaints. Look like Santa.

I know you asked about Arctic Armor but check out Striker Ice. It is top notch gear....bibs run large....parka is true to size....cheaper than Arctic Armor....or was when I bought last year. The Hard Water line up will keep you warm no matter what....maybe too warm.

Bought black bibs and jacket, size XL. I'm 6'0" / 215. Great fit, they have adjustable cords in several places. The xl allows me room for a coat underneath if needed. My AA suit is very warm, lotst of pockets and the design seems to be well thought out.
