Default tube jigs on a round head

I was wondering if anyone ever uses a tube body on a round head. I'm in Ohio and this time of year the bite is real light and my buddy uses tube jigs. I hate to buy more jig head as I have tons of round heads....what you think? I pulled one up over the head and looks like it will work. Anyone done this?

A little super glue doesn't hurt if they keep getting pulled down or off.

It will work fine. But a solid body tube will hold up a lot long than the hollow.

Have you found that tubes are that much better than say a stinger tail on a round head when the bite I real light?

I use tubes and round jig heads a lot. I just run tip of hook down through center of tube on the tip of it then bring it out on side just past tip then back into body of it and out the center on end. This creates a small portion of hollow tube to slide up over the collar of jig when you push it up against head and it will hold in place. once in awhile after catching fish I just have to snug it up , also I use the crappie nibbles and one of those helps hold tail in place also.

We use a lot of tubes.Bought tubes and home made.We like the tubes because they cannot be fished wrong.Their a thousand ways to rig.100's of colors. We like the jig head inside the tube. The jig head inside the tube we think "two cents" makes the tube a little more weedless especially around brush and rock's.Good fishing.

I used to always rig the tube over the jig when fishing. This past season I started just threading the body up on a round jig head. I fish alot of stinger shad, tiny worms, and twister tails so it's just easier to do it this way when trying to figure out what they are bitting on. This spring I'm going to try it both ways to see which they prefer it.
