Default Twain - From Crankin' To Corkin'

    Happy belated Thanksgiving to everyone!

Sorry for the delay in the report however, the holidays have been busy! As the report suggests (and if you remember my post from a couple weeks ago) we caught good crappie/walleye pulling cranks on Twain not too long ago. Fast forward two weeks and a change in techniques, Dad and I found em hot and heavy wayyyyy up river. I can tell you that a long boat ride up river when Twain is at 602 makes for an interesting adventure. We've done it many times but always seem to find new structure.

Sun was out, water was a little stained (presumably from the Corp. pulling water) and the fish were hungry.

Kept these 26 and put a bunch of shorts back to grow up. All caught in 3-5 ft. of water running a jig 18" under a cork.

Hard to beat a good fish fry in the duck pit.

Main lake and river temp's were about the same (low/mid 50's) but I think that was due to time of the day I happened to glance at the electronics. I would have expected the river to be a bit cooler however, full sunshine will work wonders on skinny water.

Gotta love that slip cork fishing in the winter. Gonna have to head to my spot a see if it's started here yet.
There will be days when the fishing is better than one's most optimistic forecast, others when it is far worse. Either is a gain over just staying home.
