    Default Fish Decoys

I was wondering if anyone uses or collects Fish Decoys. From what I understand they were used to attract fish so they can be speared. I have heard of people using them for ice fishing. Two holes are made a decoy in one and you bait in the other. I have also found these are highly collectable. I have a friend in Minnesota that hand carves and paints their decoys, they are works of art. We will soon be offering their work on my site...these would be great for an office or den.
    Thanks
    Alan

I did a search on this site and found some very interesting pictures of a member spearing pike...very cool http://www.crappie.com/gr8vb3/showth...ighlight=decoy .

This is a picture of the collectable decoys we will be offering we will be featuring TWO artists all decoys are signed and dated. The top picture is a Brown Trout....The Bottom A Rainbow....the pictures do them no justice.

Look on the ice fishing forum on here. There is one post that shows them set out under the shack. It is actually kinda neat. "Hunting for fish."

The antique decoys are very valuable some go for $2000.00 or more. But be careful the replicas are very easy to be made look like they are very old. Check them out on e-bay.
I have six in my collection and I gave $500.00 for the last one I have. It is a Yellow perch made in 1888 in Kenora Canada.
