    Default Doll Flys

Does anyone sell jigs similar to the old Doll Fly? I ran across some that must be 40 years old and they still work great. Hoping there is a vendor on this site that ties something similar

I'd bet if you put this on the fly tying board you'll get enough answers to last you a life time.

The original Doll Flies were made from Polar Bear hair. Can't do that any more; the bears are a protected species.

You can when you find a legal supplier and do the paperwork - you could use artic fox, calf body hair, calf tail, white bunny tied sparsely or the closest you might get is if you can find a tanned skunk skin and use the white stripe hair (got that idea from a steelheader).

Some were also tied with maribou but the polar bear were the ones.

I have one original left, and would love to find a mold to make the wedge heads.
