Default Spider rigging with drift socks?

With the winds lately, tried the 5 gallon buckets and didn't slow me down enough. I have a 16' aluminum Bass Tracker and like to spider rig off the bow. Any suggestions on drift socks maybe?

    Thanks,

Check cabelas for their Advanced angler series. At least 1 60 in sock if not 2.

If you can stand it hold off and watch for their sales.lots of times you can get good deals on these.

You could also use chains. Get about 6 ft of 3/8 chain cut in 2ft sections. 2 pieces of 3/8 nylon rope 50 ft long. 4 caribinners big enough to hook 3 sections of chain on. Tie one to each end of rope. You can put one section on each rope and adjust speed by adjusting length of rope then if you need more just add another length of chain to hook until you get speed right.

I use a piece of log chain to drag bottom about 6' or 7' long with a long nylon rope tied to it the harder the wind the more rope I let out. It works fine for me slows me down and is easy to store out of the way later.

I fish out of a bass tracker also, I've got 4 of the drift socks from academy. 2 usually does the trick. I clip them on the tie down rings on the transom with carabiners. If it's really bad I'll put two more off the sides up front and it'll put your boat at a crawl. All 4 fold up easily and go under the driver seat and I believe they are $15 a piece
