    What is the top 5 "rules" so to say for catching crappie in the spring?

    I know that winter crappie are found deep / suspended. At what temp do they move shallow?

    1. surface temps over 50deg
    2. steady weather, to gradual warming
    3. water level at pool, or slowly rising to pool
    4. NW corner of lake, pockets or bays or creeks, shallow flats or brush/stump/timber lined banks
    5. start shallow, work towards closest deep water or channel, look for submerged timber (staging area for females) ... when males are shallow, females are close by, just waiting until they're "in the mood"

    These are more "conditions" than 'rules' ....... :D .... cp

    thanks for the tips. i have never chased the crappie befor but I have found it to be addicitive.
