    Default Suprise!!

I bet Whiskers has seen this before....
Yesterday our fleet boat was placing barges on a liner tug boat. A tree popped up out of the water and knocked two lids off of a barge!! A dredge was working near by and the only thing we can figure is it dislodged the tree from the bottom. I will be helping out with my boat trying to find them in a couple of days when the wind dies down.

Something to think about next time you are blasting down the river. That tree is still out there somewhere.

    Talking Yep!

I saw a tree several years ago down on the Lower near Vicksburg shoot out from under our tow and one of the limbs went thru the Pilot's bedroom window.

Men, we usually just hover over them and throw a marker to one side so we can fish it ---- LOL.

Dr Pepper , you better watch running Conway Lake trails. I've seen them big logs floating just under the surface ! They don't move much when a small boat hits one.

I've seen some Sequoias and Redwoods on both the Mississippi and the Ohio Rivers. They ain't nothing you wanna be messin' with, and are the #1 reason we don't motor on the Mississipp until sun is up during duck season.

When I am running Conway, I slow down if a turtle keeps his head up too long. I have also seen some boat wreckers just beneath the surface in the lanes. Lots of times a twig or something will give them away.
