76 crappie sitting in one spot on the bank has got to be a blessing from heaven, you must have done something good recently! Congrats!
Hit Nickajack at 8:00 a.m this morning and quit fishing at 11:00 a.m. Fish were still biting when I left. Had a great day with numbers on the crappie. Still not the 12-15 inch fish I am looking for but I am not complaining. Had 76 crappie in 3 hours of fishing. Used my Major Craft FineTail Banshee Trout Rod 6' 7"....a Daiwa Certate 2004H reel spooled with SOS 2# test line and a Bison colored Trout Magnet. Started out with the 1/64 Trout Magnet jig head with a size B split shot 18 inches above the jig head and as the wind got a little stronger each hour wound up my morning with a 1/16 ounce jig head. Fish were on a ledge wall holding at around 10-12 feet in depth, holding very tight to the wall. All in all a great morning of fun. Kept expecting to hook up with some bigger fish but one has to take what the lake gives up. Not a bad day sitting on a bucket never moving from the spot.....crappie had to be stacked in there. Life is good!
