    Default Fall Fishin

Friday I took the day off and invited an elderly gentleman that attends Lodge with me to go fishing . We had a pretty productive day and he had a blast.

Nice mess of fish, glad you took your older friend. Sometimes that's the only way old people can get out and enjoy the outdoors.

It's always nice to invite someone who does not have access to a boat,
to enjoy a day of fishing. You sir are a gentleman and there are darn
    few of you left!

Nice nice catch and thanks for sharing. Glad you were able to take someone that might not of had the opportunity to get to go.

I have always tried to take some of the older guys with me when I go, I'm 73. I get very upset when I take them and we don't do very well but they always seem very happy just to be out. Sadly now a couple of the guys I use to take just can't make it any more, just too hard for them to get around and I'm not able to help very much. I just had a sad but at the same time uplifting experience. I went to visit an old fishing buddy who is terminally ill. When I arrived he was in bed after just receiving a treatment and not feeling well. I was going to leave and return later but he insisted he wanted to see me. After getting him comfortable in his chair we talked about some of the great trips we have had, crazy things we have done and laughed and laughed. Later his wife thanked me and said that day was the best she had seen him in months. so I guess it means more than you think sometimes.
