Has Anyone Fished Hovey Lake Indiana

Planning trip to several lakes this spring,with Hovey being one of them.
Any recommendations on this lake.Read a article in the gad-about that it was a good crappie lake...Would rather hear from someone who has fished it first hand...

Not near as good as it once was. Lake is very shallow and the only ones I here of catching nice messes are the regulars. I fished it a few times sevral years ago and found it tough to find the pattern. Most fish were caught in or around the drain. Right now the water is pretty hard ta boot!!:D

I just work right up the road and many of the guys I work with are big fishermen but most go elsewhere.

Thanks for the info.Januarys issue of the gad-a-bout really talked the place up,Thought it might be worth looking into.Sounds like a dud....

There are a couple of Ox bow lakes that you can access from the IL side that have some good crappie fishing. Let me know if you need more info!
