    Default Built stakebed buckets today.....

Forgot to count how many of these I made this afternoon, but I got quite a bit done as I worked from 2:00 to 5:00 on them. 40# of concrete will sink these like a rock. They are also headed to "the spot" on Kentucky Lake in the near future. I also took some closeups of these in case anyone wanted to make some of their own.

I'm going to sink them in different areas for different winds (I hate crappie fishing in the wind). Various depths, but I'm guessing 8' - 14' deep mainly on flats. Everybody will be fishing them if I put them on the creek channels....already brush on every creek channel bend where I fish.

OK, Casey now for the good part. I need to know some GPS readings. I had rather you didn't post them here just send me a private message. That we we can keep our little secret!

    Bandit -
I was just in the process of sending you a PM with the coordinates to all my spots, but I'm just not smart enough to figure out how to read this darn GPS.....SORRY I couldn't help! If I was just a little more proficient technically you would've been in luck.

I took a hole saw drill for making door lock holes and cut holes in 5 gal buckets. Also cut hole in lid ,leave hinged so when filled with rocks they stay put. In four sides 90 degrees apart three sets of holes. I made sure to leave one side of hole not completely cut out to hold stakes. I got Cedar stakes out of scrap from local mill. Pushed the 8' stakes 1/2 way through and it looks like roots from a stump.Fill up with rocks for weight. The buckets are free , stakes are free, rocks are free. Just a little time and gas.:D I hope these work in shallow areas (less than 5') I wish I had a picture. :o

    Nimrod,

Looks like a ton of work for the amount of cover you get, but I'm sure it will work really well. Bass should like them a lot too.
