Default Are you tired your current marker bouy?

I have bought a ton of bouys over they years and they never seem to hold up. The plastic ones crack and some of the newer ones even sink when the line entangles when pitched out in the water. Well here is my quick and easy way to build you a few that will hold up and not sink or crack. First you need a couple round bobbers about 1.5 inch in diameter.

    Next a 1/4 wooden dowel

Next a 1/4 drill bit, hot glue gun, string, swivel and weight.

Disassemble the bobber pulling out the guts and then drill out the inside hole with the 1/4 drill bit. You can push the dowel through without the drill bit but it may split the Bobber.

Cut you a 5 inch piece of the 1/4 inch dowel. Shoot some hot glue into the bobber hole and push the dowel through till it comes to the edge of the bobber. I do both bobber at one time.

Next drill a hole in the middle of both the bobbers about 1/4 inch deep. Next put glue in each hole and insert a 1/8 oz worm weight into the holes. This will keep the bouy from spinning around and unwinding once the weight is at the bottom of the lake.

I then spool the bouy with 25ft of line, tie a swivel on and then my weight 2 oz bell sinker. The swivel keeps the line from twisting as you wind the bouy line up upon retrieval.

I then painted some brown or black to make harder to see.

    Tight lines and enjoy fishing.

We called em boat attractors, but those are small enough to not be seen by most folks. Good DIY JW.

Crappie bite twice a day. 15 minutes before I get there and 10 minutes after I leave.
The two loudest sounds are a gun that goes bang when it is supposed to go click and one that goes click when it is supposed to go bang.
