From what I'm hearing, the Corps will likely start releases at Falls this weekend and it'll take around 2 weeks to be back to normal.
It's good news if you want to fish Jordan, but still a waiting game on Falls. If you have kept up with the news this week, the Neuse River has been very slow to go back below flood stage, but the Cape Fear River has come down. This is evident in the water release from the Falls and Jordan lakes. I looked at the Jordan Lake Park website, but could not find any updates. I did hear of some people putting in at Farrington to fish, but had very little success.
As you can see in the first chart, the water is roaring out of Jordan. The lake level is going down two feet in a 24-hour time period is a huge amount of water. At this rate, it will be back down to near normal in three days. In the second chart with the Neuse River still high, they are holding the water in the lake.
