I have a 2016 RT188 bass version with a 115 mercury 4 stroke that I love. I went with the bass version because of the layout, I think it has additional storage over the crappie style.

Good to hear the positive review Johnboy1. As soon as I sell my Sea Ray, I'm gonna have one of those. They seem to be a well built rig.

I have a 2017 Ranger RT188C on order. Ranger ship date is 11/16/16. Can't hardly wait!!!! Waiting is not easy. I sold my old 2005 fiberglass Ranger three weeks ago to the first person that looked at it. LOL. Now I am boatless. Should have asked more for it and took more time! Luckily I have a couple of guys carrying me out fishing with them occasionally.

Ive had the Triton 18TX bass version with a 115hp Mercury for almost a year now and I'm very happy with it. It's the same hull as the Ranger 188 and the only real differences between them are cosmetic.
I also chose the bass version because of the extra storage. I fish for bass and crappie and keep tackle for both in the boat. If I only fished for crappie I'd probably have leaned toward the "C" version for the front livewell.

I looked at the RT 188 C this past summer. Great looking boat. Liked the way it is made. The only reason I did not buy it was the front deck was higher than I wanted. I am not as good on my feet as I once was. I went with Xpress boat for that reason and that Xpress offered a .125 hull vs .100 and a 20 ft. model. I like some things about the Ranger over other makes. I think Rangers and Xpress make the most well made aluminum boats. Price about the same.
