I believed you until you said sore lip them all. lol
Good luck with the surgery.
Been fishing my crappie spot for two weeks now. Been catching a lot of short crappie and some good ones. Been wearing out the KY and largemouth bass on the ultralight....some days catching 75 bass. But today my crappie spot produced 3 limits of crappie in 4 hours of fishing today....not the first bass was to be seen....which is OK with me. The limit is 15 fish......so had a total of 45 crappie all 10 inches or over. Did not keep any fish today as I am having some minor surgery tomorrow and just wanted to come home and rest up....but next week I will be bringing fish home. I fished a Bison colored Trout Magnet using the Tict Ice Cube Rockin' Drift 6' 9" TOR UL rod with a Daiwa Certate 2000 CH reel spooled with SOS 2# test line. My jig head was a 1/16 ounce with a number 8 hook. I use that jig head when the current at my spot gets heavy.....and it was today. My preferred method is to use the Trout Magnet 1/64 ounce jig head with a single size "B" split shot about 18 inches up the line. It was a great day. The crappie are getting bigger and in two weeks I fully expect to be catching nothing smaller than 12 inches. I love feeling the crappie "thump". I am an avid UL angler and while I fish for other specie most of the time there is nothing quite like catching crappie on an UL rod. The 13 inch fish gave a great fight....pulling drag.....all the crappie put up a good tussle. If the doc tells me I can fish on Friday I will be back out there.....if not look for more reports next week. Life is good! Sore Lip"Em All!
Regards

Nice. The Doc is going to make you better but who is going to help those poor fish.
Nice catch and pics, best of luck with your surgery.
Man thats awesome! Tell me more about catching fish in the current! I do not want to hijack your awesome thread but, I used to run barrel nets in the arkansas river and sometimes they would be FILLED to the brim with slab crappie! We had to always turn em loose of coarse but the fact that I know they are in there and have had zero luck in scoring on em when I fish for them is mind boggling! Nice looking fish man!
Great fun right there. Do you use the trout magnet/crappie magnet jigheads as well?
Nothing like that thump! Thats all I do, vertical jig, me and my fishing buddy felt 140 thumps today!
