Default NY winter = No crappie fishing

I went out shopping today and noticed that everyone looked kinda fat and pale. Then I walked past a full length mirror and saw myself - fat and pale. When I got home I ran into my neighbor snowblowing his driveway and said hi. He looked fat and pale. Its time for winter to end. Before it ends I thought I'd post a few pics that show why we are all staying inside, and since this is the crappie forum its the reason I'm not out there chasing crappies.

    My old woodshed

    My driveway.

    Hehe - just kidding.

Ah, the beauty of SE Virginia. I've fished 22 weekends in a row and this Saturday will make it 23. Forecasted temps, low to mid 40's, water temp 42.

But, I too just got 20" of snow today, which will put the fishing off for a week or so. Then I'm headed right back out there on monday in 2 weeks. :D

I've never enjoyed ice fishing. Sitting over a little hole freezin my tail just never made my fishing juices flow. Done probably 5 times and never enjoyed it.

I remember once a friend and I went out on chautauqua. We stopped by a little store and bought a couple subs and drinks and chips. It was a nice day and we went out on the lake. A man and his kid and dog showed up and drilled some holes about 30 yrds from us and we caught a couple sunnies. We hadn't eaten our lunch yet and we weren't really paying attention and we turn around and that dog is lifting his leg on our lunch bag. He drenched everything. Thats pretty typical of my ice fishing experience.

I'm fat and pale. I'm going fishing again this weekend. We only superheat our brains. Nice pictures but I'll pass on the white stuff.

It's been a little chilly around here lately but we're past due for a little taste of Spring and it looks like we'll get it next week - http://www.weather.com/outlook/recre...s/tenday/71964
