    Default Line Test Thursday

I've been busy with work so it's been a couple of weeks s9nce I have fished. We put in at Truman and fished the Grand Arm. We dipped trees in 6 to 12 foot of water, we caught a bunch of fish and had a Ball! I had just put on some 10 lb braid and was comparing it to the 10 lb mono I have been using, I plan on using braid from here on.

I've gone back and forth. Hate the way braid get around the endof rod. Doesn't shake loose like momo.

I used identical rods one with mono and the other with braid.... I could feel so much better that I feel it's worth the headaches, at least for dipping

I was on the braid kick for a few years, liked Power Pro, but have gone back to mono only using Vicious Hi Vis. Just like way mono comes off the spool for pitching wells and shooting docks. But when a biggin saws me off I'm wishing I had braid. For strictly dipping timber I'd use braid hands down...nice catch

    Nice job Tommy and Mark.
I guess we know where to go for a fish fry.

We use braid on our spinning reels for panfish and bass. Both lines have good and bad points. We have found rocks will cut braid quicker than mono. Also toothy critters will cut it in a blink of an eye. Used steel leaders in Canada. Saw a test a few years ago comparing mono, braid and I think fluoro. It was either Field and stream or Outdoor life magazine. Braid was the least abrasion resistant and mono was the best. So I guess it is whatever an individual likes.

Vic, we've been using minnows and a gold hook this year. I've tried jig and minnow combination and a jig with scent and the way we're fishing we catch a lot more fish with minnows

I use braided line on all my dipping poles. Single or double hooks? I guessing single so you don't get snagged as much.
