    Default Best Longliner Ever

Being recently retired, and a newbie to CDC and crappie fishing in general, I have spent a lot of time gathering information here. The other night while reading some good threads on long lining, it occurred to me that I may be the best long liner ever and just didn't know it. That was it. the stage was set, time for the bullet to hit the bone. So for the last two mornings, I have ran up and down Kings creek slough and Phillips Branch with a vengeance. Set up on the boat not top shelf, but good. four rods off the front, which was plenty for now. Trolling motor and batteries worked and held up good. Caught several crappie ( all short ) one drum and a nice channel cat. Turns out I'm not the best long liner ever, but I am a better long liner than I was a couple of days ago,and I like that.

Snuffy .... you'll get better !! And you'll likely DO better, once the water at Watts Bar Lake cools down some.

Welcome from Central Florida. Time on the water and persistence will teach you more about that than anything else. Keep after it and it will get nothing but better.

Keep doing what you are doing and as the water starts to cool down the bite will get better.
