    Default Lipless crank trolling guide?

    Hey guys,

In central Iowa there are a couple reservoirs where a guy can jump a mixed bag of slab crappies, white bass, whipers and walleyes this time of year. The typical presentation is trolling lipless shad imitating crank baits, and I have a couple questions. Does anyone have a trolling guide with line wt. and length of line released to achieve desired depths? Also, does anyone replace their lipless crank trebles with single hooks?

    Thank you in advance!

    Joel

I use rattle traps pushing. I just follow ScottVs pushing figures based on 3oz weights. Works good and 1 3/4" blue and silver works best so far. Got them at Wal Mart on sale @1.99.

Utilize "Offshore Tackle" tadpoles. They come specifically with a dive chart.... will get you down a heck of a lot deeper with way less line out. No need for heavy snap weights. These release when a fish hits and you don't feel the weight of the tadpole while fighting the fish.

I utilize Precision trolling app daily when on the water. I will use it exclusively this weekend on the 3rd leg of the MWT (Michigan Walleye Tour). I would much rather run a tadpole with 10lb Berkley back 20 to get me down to a depth of 15 foot than I would running 100 feet of line out on a lipless crank to maybe get me down to 8 foot.
