    Default Umbrella mount?

I am thinking about buying a couple of umbrellas for my boat. I am thinking about mounting a bracket I am designing on a Millennium seat and attaching the umbrella to it. You guys attach your umbrellas to the seats or mount them in floor of boat? To me, I think either way has it's advantages and disadvantages. What are y'alls thoughts on this?

I think there are as many mays to mount them as there are guys using them. I have built PVC over the seat post kind and now have PVC mounted on both sides of boat since it pretty narrow by the seat. Both work good. Have also thought of making a mount to fit under seat that would rotate with the seat which should work fine also.

Never seen a need for a mount. The sportbrella fits perfectly in a 3/4 pin pedestal.

My boat has the 2 3/8" pedestal mounts. That's why I'm making a bracket.

I cut 1.5" PVC to size, about 16". I don't remember. I used clamps I found at Home Depot in the electrical section and simply riveted them to the aluminum rod boxes in my panfisher. 1st pic is the completed project. Notice one on each side. 2nd pic is Mrs DP enjoying them on Grenada a couple of weeks ago. Name: umbrella.jpg

I built a holder out of 1.5" PVC to hold a Nautica umbrella, our Sam's didn't have the Sportbrella in stock. The grandboys really enjoy fishing in the shade.
