    Default color selection

    Hello fishermen!

I am new to this forum and to crappie fishing. Only been doing it for about three years. I love it! I got on this forum to learn more about fishin. For starters, what colors work best in what type of water clarity?

    Thanks,

    Beenfishin?

beenfishin, first of all, welcome to the boards, there are lots of good people here and most are willing to help you however they can. As for you question you are asking, would depend alot on where you are fishing. Check out this thread by Dwyane aka Shadow on the Louisiana board about getting more response if people know where your at, and how to edit your profile to add in your location. Here is the link.

beenfishin,Welcome from Tn.!!Chartruce & Chart/combos are always a good bet. They show up in all water conditions. My goto color is Chart/Black,catch 75% of my Crappie on it when using jigs! Crappie are very color conscience-dont be afraid to try different colors & combos.

Welcome from Kentucky and Cave Run Lake. Pink and black and pink and white w/sliver sparkles have been my most productive.

    Thumbs up

Welcome beenfishin. Whether you are a fairweather fisherman or an avid all weather fisherman, you will love this site!
Generally from what I have read, seems like dark days mean dark bait and bright days mean bright bait.
It also depends a lot on what you have confidence in!
I use yellow and white jigs probably 75% of the time in the summer mainly because of the confidence thing. I also like chartruese and white and red and chartruese.
Best thing for you to do is to experiment with different colors and different weights. That's why they call it fishin and not catchin!
the trick to catch that finnicky speck....
gently set the hook just before the peck
