Default Installing 3-bank on board charger 24v system

I am moving batteries to the front storage area on a recently acquired Pro Team 185. The wiring harness from rear to front TM plug is 6-awg; I have 8-awg on hand, will this be sufficient for the distance of 5 feet?

I would stay with the 6. Less current loss.

I HAD a similar situation a week or so ago. i moved my batteries up front and got exactly 5 ft from batteries to t/m. i have two batteries in parallel goin to a 55# power drive v2. i called minnkota and they told me size 8awg was plenty big enough from that distant. the original wires going from plug into the t/m were actually smaller than a size 8awg, i would guess it was a 10awg. first time out i trolled for five solid hours, non stop, at 1.5-2.0 pulling cranks before they gave out. now, if you have a 24v t/m i don't know if that would make a difference or not. good luck, ws

If you have trouble finding the, ends for 6 gage wire, I finally found some at a local Rural King farm supply retailer. Might try a store like.that.

Where in the store did you find them? I have looked all over the Main store here in Illinois with no luck. I know that some rural kings are not connected and carry some different stuff.

I found them in the battery section next to batteries. The have 1 gage wire for hooking up batteries and ends hanging on pegboard.b. They are the kind you have to crimp. I took a dull flat punch and crimped them a couple of times that way with a hammer. Works perfect and wire is crimped solid. They are solid copper.

Your local NAPA store should stock everything you need for the installation. Both of my stores do.

Thanks; everything charged up great @ 29.2v output on charger need to install a 60amp breaker as opposed to 50amp to protect the 24v system @75lb TM.
