Back in yesteryear when I had a job, I fished White Rock Lake while deployed to Richardson. The lake was full of small crappie. Fun to catch.
Alot of the time i dont go far from home . I try to go daily and sometimes twice or 3 times a day if it works into my schedule . Many times its for 30 minutes to an hour because thats the time i have to spare . Living in Ft. worth Texas i do have several waters close by to hit in hopes of finding a crappie or two. Of course the local urban waters are beat down by a many an angler ,but there are times when a few larger fish have escaped them .
i hit the trinity river by my job at lunch time under a bridge at noon tuesday and found a nice one off the bank along with a bunch a little ones and a couple pretty good ones i didnt get to hold as well . I stand on a 45% concrete bank that gives the crappie a great chance to escape after the lift .
I went with a bud that same day after 5 to a local lake in my boat and we pitched a bit and found a few there as well . Our summer bite is in full swing here and the fish are rather cooperative in almost every spot i have hit lately . The numbers at the lake were not near as good as sunday but we still managed about 60 or 70 in 3 hours . the lake fish and river fish were all bottom hugging for some reason and they seemed to like lots of sparkle on a 1/16 drug and hopped on the bottom .
hope you enjoy the read and photos and until my next visit have a great day
