Some days at the flea market you don't find anything - well TODAY wasn't that day!! I picked up a St. Croix 8'6" Imperial Fly rod and it hardly looks used.

That's what I like about flea markets and yard sales. You never know what they may have and sell. I have gotten some very good deals on fishing equipment, hunting supplies and tools at them and paid far less than i had expected to pay. Some people will just about give some of this stuff away to get rid of it. Thats a nice fly rod hope you catch a ton of fish with it.

Very nice find! I rarely find any good fishing gear at fleamarkets. Yard sales have been good to me. Last spring I picked up one St Croix and two Fenwick rods for $80.00. Both the Fenwicks had Shamano Sedona reels in great shape. I almost felt like a criminal

Good find Doug. I have a Browning Silaflex 7 weight that I'd like to find a lighter replacement for. That looks like a sweetheart there.

It can go the other way also. Years ago I had custom built 3 different rods with Fenwick blanks, one of them a 7 1/2 foot flipping stick. The other 2 were bass casting rods and all had Ambassadeur 5500 reels. I was willing to let them go for $40 each (a steal) at a yard sale my wife and her family were having at her Grandmother's home on a major highway. Seems my wife was eating lunch and her Grandmother let some guy talk her into letting him have ALL 3 of the outfits for $40. To say I was totally bent out of shape over that would be the understatement of the millennium. No more of my outdoor stuff ever goes into a yard sale unless I'm there with it.
