Default OK, I got me some Braided line, game on....

Some of you may have seen the tread I started about Braided Line. There were three suggestions made in the thread here which made me buy the stuff to trial: http://www.crappie.com/crappie/main-.../334973-braid/

Cane Pole was first to recommend the PowerPro Super8Slick
    Crestliner08 recommended Fireline Crystal
And Huntinslabs suggested the FINS Windtamer

So the battle for the best braid (in my opinion) is on. Now please, realize this is all subjective, and my opinion based solely on my needs. Your mileage may vary, and will vary based on your own personal needs. But, I'm gonna have some fun with this, and one of the three members above will win something from Crappie.com.

I got the stuff, and shortly I'll give you a "first blush" opinion based loading up a few spools. You know, how the line looks and feels kinda thing. Then will come the field trials.

Can't wait to see your results. I use the PowerPro Depth Hunter and like it pretty well, it lets me determine how many feet of line I have out without having to use line counter reels

A vote for Cane Pole, only mainly because I am partial to the superslick. Really looking forward to your review.

First step obtain line, and now second step, unload reels. I seen "G"s technique with disposable shot glasses. I'm too lazy to go to the store, and too cheap to throw away good line, so I invented this:

This lets me power unload line onto a throw away water bottle. I duct taped a disposable water bottle to a stubby Philips screw driver, and stuck the screw driver end into the drill. This way I can keep the line cause it ain't that old anyway.

In the picture, I see different lb line. Are you going to use the same lb line per reel, to get an honest evaluation of each type?

I'll be interested in the results, as I am in the process of setting up a couple
of long rods for dipping in the brush next spring. Bring it on!

I did not see the Fireline available in 15 lb test, so I selected 14 lb test. Close enough for me. This is not a scientific, it's Slabtific. Good enough for me. lol
