    Default Cranks on mark Twain

I am headed to MT on Saturday and am going to try more cranks. This is my plan so please let me know if you think I am screwing this up. Been reading on here from some of you smart guys. Last weekend I pulled with 3 poles off the back using 8 lbs test and 50 ft or so of line. I was pulling bomber model a's and caught quite a few crappie and whites. I am going to run the Same 3 rods off the back but I picked up some bandit 300s to run now. I am going to add 2 BNM 12 ft PSTs up front and rig with bandit 200s on a 3 ft leader behind 2 oz weights. I plan to start on some main lake points where I located shad last weekend and then move to the outer part of coves and drag on the outside of the timber. If nothing works, then I will go back to rigging with minnows in the standing timber. From what I read, 1.5-2 mph is a good window. Last week I was 2.8-3 mph trolling with the big motor. Any suggestion would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Mike

If you have to use your big motor to troll, you might pick up a drift sock to help slow you down. Or make one with a bucket. I prefer using my troller on twain because there a lot of stick ups along the banks and I'd hate to ruin a prop.
Don't over look using those 200's without extra weight. 300's and wiggle warts are my favorite for twain. Might run a couple of your lines a tad farther back behind the boat. Might try closer, too. Luck!

Crappie curt. Maybe we will see ya. I am planning on fishing the Florida area and will be in a red Lowe stinger with my son and future son in law.

The plan to crappie fish never got started because we immediately located some whites rolling on a point after shad. The boys had a great time and caught plenty of fish. We ended up bringing home 33 which included a few keeper crappie. Must of released at least that many too. My son also caught his very first walleye - although just a pup he thought it was cool.
Going to try the 7-up bath and fry em up. My son said it was the best day he has he fishing. Pretty happy about that.

A good white bass bite is a great way to start out a young fisherman. Started both of my kids on whites and the can still hold their own with a jig.

Sounds like a trip you and your son will never forget. One of those days that just keep you coming back for more.
