Default Catfish on soft plastics? Two no less in the same day!

Decent bluegills caught - approx 2 doz. but this you'll find hard to believe - a picture is proof!

First catfish caught in the morning :

second catfish caught in the afternoon on a different bait:

The fight for the first fish was at least three minutes; the second a little less and on a different lure (also on my soft plastic creation.)

Come to think of it, last year I had a fish on that gave me the same incredible fight in the same location but it got lost in the shallow weeds and broke the line. Could it have been the same fish? Freak'n strange to say the least ! At least this time neither fish broke the 6lb test line (if it was two separate fish....) I forgot my scale which would have told the story. (wt. approx. first cat over 7 lbs; 2nd cat around 5 lbs.)

We catch catfish quite often on soft plastics. It only takes a millisecond to realize it's not a crappie! Glad they gave you a good fight!

Yep! Catch em quite often. Even longlining at 1.3mph they will suck em in.

Last Sat. we caught 3 cats trolling crankbaits for crappie. Biggest was a 15 lb flathead, about an 8 lb flathead and about a 6 lb channel. All on one point. Everytime we pulled over it, we caught a cat.
