My uncle had a regular transducer in his aluminum boat and said it worked ? That price is higher than I would want to pay .

It may be high, but I'm gonna have to replace my second one now so it would make sense.Plus if it were in the boat it may pick up better at higher speeds. The ones I've used before would quit working at around 20mph.

    Default Transducer

Ive had one for, 3 years, had a bottomline 480 first and got rid of it, and got a adaptor for a 102c Lawrence, seems to work fine. if you change fishfinders soe of them you can get a adaptor and still run same tranducer. This the aluminducer by Vexliar. nor all fishfinders will work off it.

Doug, this thing will work fine if it has the right adapter. In fact, almost any puck transducer will work if you can epoxy it to the hull with no air bubbles or no air space for the signal to pass thru. Pucks (not metal pucks) work, but at a reduced power level. The trick is to get the air bubbles out of the puck to hull surface contact space.

I always hear that when you use this kind of transducer(ones that glue to the boat) that you have to be very careful not to have AIR bubbles in the adhesive or it will interfere with the accuracy. Another question that you may want to ask is how well is it gonna handle the trailering? what will the bouncing do it? I know on most thru hull transducer recomend NOT to trailer the boats.

This one shoots through the hull. It does not stick through it. Only on the inside. So trailering it, Will not be a problem.
