Default WHITE BASS WERE ON FIRE at the 'VILLE', YESTERDAY

Went to go catfishing, however, talking to a couple of guys at the ramp who came to go Walleye fishing, spoke of how muddy the water was and only caught a few Crappie and white bass. I trolled a 300 sexy shad crankbait, 20 ft out from the shoreline, 20 ft of water and caught just one Crappie, 10 inches. Seen the White Bass corralling the shad and the party was on. Ended up with 15 , 4- right under 17 inches. Water was 67 degrees, muddyyyyyyyyyyyy. Very little wind.

Cut the red meat out and marinate them in carbonated soda to remove ANY bad taste.

Just catching anything would be fun right now, but I'm curious about the marinade as well. What flavor and for how long?

NO COLAS, use 7- UP, Sprite and / or Twist or Mountain Dew, DIET ( DON'T NEED THE SUGARY STUFF ) soda pop, preferably clear, AND they do have lemon and or lime in them. After fish have been cleaned and washed, drain off excess water, pour ONE can per , 1 - gallon freezer bag, soak for one day or longer before cooking. Day of cooking, unfreeze / thaw out, rinse the soda pop out / off with clean water and cook, fry prepare. I use Peanut Oil, yes, it is MORE expensive, HOWEVER, the breading on the fish will NOT absorb the oil / grease. TRY IT ONE TIME, You WILL taste the difference. Turn YUCKY into YUMMY ! Smithville and other lakes may NOT have enough WHITE BASS population AFTER this INSIGHT on how to prepare them. SEE YA ON THE WATER.

My experience with white bass is just removing all the red is all that's needed. I do the same thing on catfish.

Whites and Hybreds are fun to catch and good to eat. jmo.

A gun, like any other source of power, is a force for either good or evil, being neither in itself, but dependent upon those who possess it
