Default Crankbait bite is starting in Linn Creek area

Tried trolling crankbaits last night for the first time this year and did alright. Got on the water about 5:30 and trolled till almost dark and had 8 keepers two being 13" and a lot of short fish. Trolled main channel ledges and some brush piles in about 20' of water. Best color was sexy shad 300 Bandits. After it got dark I fished some of the same brush piles and backs of docks with lights using Bobby Garland MoGlow pink phantom baby shad and finished up a limit and again a lot of short fish. Quit at 10:00 with fish still biting good. Sure was a nice quiet evening to be out with hardly any boats out.

Thanks for the report. The twins and I are headed down this evening after we attend my nephew's graduation in Rolla. I'm planning on pulling sometime tomorrow. I pulled in the area a couple weeks ago and had some really nice fish. I'll post the results.

Love pull'n cranks how about some pics of your set up and some fish for us.

Went back last night didn't do as good but got on the water later. My wife did catch an 8-1/2 lb. blue cat. Name: catfish.jpg

Here is a pic of my setup. I use the bases from BeeReady so I didn't have to drill holes in my boat. The rod holders from BeeReady are great for spider rigging, but not for trolling since they don't have any side support to keep the rod from rolling over. To fix this I bought some Driftmaster T-bars, bases, and rod holders and attached them to the pedestal bar. I can still use the BeeReady risers and rod holders since they are taller than the Driftmaster. T troll with the kids a lot and typically run just 4 rods, but I have a similar setup for an additional two rods for the back. If I want to use the center pedestal hole up front I have a couple pieces of PVC pipe the same diameter as the seat post with a threaded bolt that I use in the two outside pedestal holes. I troll with my Suzuki 140 4-stroke and pull two drift socks off the front to slow us down. Hummingbird 998 shows us the speed, bait balls, fish, and water temp. It is a lot of fun!!
