    Always wise words.

    My wife attended the funeral of a dear friend and co-worker last week. During the service, the minister told a story the deceased had told him;

    Seems there was an elderly lady, who was the mother and grandmother of a very large family who always told those who ate at her table at the end of the main meal to "keep your spoon". When asked what she meant by that, the old lady replied that desert was next and it would always be something special coming up next and your spoon should be ready.

    When the old lady told her wishes for her funeral arrangements, she told her family she wanted to be shown in her casket with a spoon in her hands. When the funeral director asked why, the family told she knew there was something special coming after her life and she wanted her spoon to be ready.

    My wife said there wasn't a dry eye in the place.

    Enjoyed that Tom. I have already lived twice as long as I figured I would when I was young. Various reasons for that line of thought. I can already see the changes in my way of thinking and doing things. All any of us can hope for is to be thought well of when we're done.
