Default Wally Marshall SOLO Series Jigging pole w/SOLO Reel and line

Got this setup about six weeks ago to fish pads and grass and have not fished either since, went this morning and put a popsicle stinger shad on to try for a crappie finally caught one. Have used the SOLO setup off our seawall for blue gills and caught a lot of small ones and a few hand sized ones large enough to take line, Like the 'feel' of the rod and am getting used to reel position, don't know when the grass and pads will be back in the picture but can't wait for the 'thump' on a jig or may even try some freshwater shrimp.--shu

You need to pull over to the river Shu and do some dipping pads and trees there. get that set some exercise. You will like it. You might want to spool some 10/2 Power Pro on it for them Jurassic Pads on the river though.

I don't own the rod but have many of the reels. A solo reel on a rear seat graphite pole is the lightest rig you can find. I can fish all day without any fatigue. Most of the waters I fish are no more that 8 foot deep so the little light reel is more than sufficient. The drag also helps when I hook up to an occasional catfish, bass, or red fish.

I use my solo reels for shallow dipping. Use a spinning reel otherwise.

I use the Solo reels on my kayak spider rigging with 4 Ozark 11' rear seat reals. I love them.

No they do not. When I am just dipping a jig or tightlining I hold the pole all the time.

I have 6 of the reels and they are great. As stated earlier they are so lite you can fish all day with no fatigue. I have been using mine wade fishing and have been nothing but pleased. the rods not so much.
